Remember to bring the mobile device to school every day, fully charged and ready to use. Leave your charger and necessary parts at home.
Take care of your device and all other materials checked out to you because you are financially responsible for them.
Do not loan your device or charger to anyone.
Students may use the Media Center before and after school, during break, and lunch.
Media Center computers and assigned devices are for educational uses only.

Students are assigned a chromebook and charger at the beginning of the year, and are allowed 1 loaner (either a charger or a chromebook) checked out at a time. Students should NOT have excess fees/ overdue materials. Students are responsible for bringing their devices charged and ready for school everyday.
Students will be allowed to borrow a day loaner (charger or chromebook) if they meet the following requirements:
No overdue/ missing items
No fees for damage items that accumulate over $100
Are NOT on the NPL for fees/ overdue materials
Students may not be able to check out more until they return missing/ overdue materials, and/or pay fines for damaged or lost items.
A loaner is not a replacement device, therefore students should not take it home. A loaner (chromebook or charger) will be marked overdue if it is not returned by the end of the day.
Students may have up to 2 books checked out at a time. Each book has a unique barcode that is assigned to an individual's name during check out. Books should not be shared or exchanged, because the individual is responsible for the book that they checked out.
Teachers can check out books as a class set, but these books should not leave the classroom or be assigned to any student. Teachers may send their students during class to check out their own book, so the student assumes responsibility. Teachers may send their students back to the Media Center for check in. If students wish to leave their books in the care of their teachers, the student is still responsible for the book. Students may always check in items on their own time.
TECHNOLOGY / LIBRARY FEES
There are no late fees for overdue items. However, fees will be charged for any lost or damaged materials.
Items can be returned or paid for at the VCHS Media Center, regardless of which VCPUSD school they were checked out from. The VCHS Media Center accepts cash or checks only—no credit or debit cards. Please make checks payable to VCPUSD.
If you lose or damage a book beyond repair, you may provide a replacement copy. The replacement must be in good condition and must be the same edition as the original. This replacement option does not apply to technology items. Lost or damaged Chromebooks cannot be replaced by students.
Technology insurance covers only one incident per school year. If an item is fully damaged (e.g., water damage), insurance will cover only 50% of the cost. Please review your Technology Agreement, signed at registration, for full details.
If you have unpaid fees or overdue items and do not attempt to resolve them after being notified, you may be placed on the Non-Privilege List (NPL).
If you are present at the time of payment, you will receive a printed receipt. If you prefer a digital receipt, please request one.
Families that can’t pay fees right away can agree to a payment plan to prevent the student from being added to the NPL. Payments need to be consistent on a monthly basis in order to prevent the student from being added to the NPL. Only after the first payment, will the student be temporarily removed from the NPL. Please see the Library Media Specialist if you are interested in this method of payment to determine the duration and amount owed per month.
During class time, students are required to have a pass from their teacher to use the Media Center. We will try to accommodate students but due to the scheduling of classes, this is not always possible.
Students may print in black and white; color printing is not allowed.
