I am Dawn Reeh the Instructional Coach, for Pauma Elementary School. My primary role is to work alongside teachers to provide students with the support or enrichment they need to be successful in school.
I completed Orton-Gillingham training. What is that Orton-Gillingham? The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia. It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, or system. In the hands of a well-trained and experienced instructor, it is a powerful tool of exceptional breadth, depth, and flexibility.
I recently received my Masters degree from Concordia Irvine in 2019.
I graduated from Cal State San Marcos with both my teaching credential and my Bachelor of Arts.
I have lived in Valley Center for the past 13 years with my two kids. My oldest graduated last year from VC Prep and my youngest is attending Valley Center High School. We love to take road trips and adventure outdoors. My youngest son and I mountain bike and have recently taken up rock climbing.
I started teaching in Valley Center in 2013 at Lilac School. I taught 4th grade for 7 years, moved to 2nd grade for 1 year and this is my third year working as as a TOSA.
I love enriching the learning process with technology. I helped run the Drone Club at Lilac School for two years. Our first year we came in second at a drone competition in Orange County.
I am constantly learning new things inside and outside the classroom.
