Three Programs To Effectively Teach IOT Remotely

Session Overview:

In this session participants will learn how to use 3 different online programs to teach "Internet of Things" lessons to secondary students. Make Code Adafruit, Trinket, and TinkerCAD are all online simulator programs that allow students to program projects using either code blocks or by writing lines of code. Participants will write programs that control simulated computing boards and sensors. The 3 focus programs provide access and interest through fun projects for students who may not normally choose a Computer Science Pathway.

Participants will be provided with starter projects. The links below in resources include the three simulator sites that will be showcased in the session. Participants who would like to experiment alongside the presentation will need to make accounts at each sight (recommend using your Google credentials to create your account). In addition to the links and simulators, additional sites for researching projects, documentation, and tutorials are listed below.
