Your desktop computer or laptop should be connected to your SMART board via HDMI and sound cables.
If your connection is not working and you are not able to troubleshoot the issue, submit a help ticket to helpdesk@vcoe.org. Include your name, your schools site, your room # and as many details as you can provide. This will help us understand how we can help you get the set-up working faster.
The second monitor that was installed will be the monitor where you can have your Zoom gallery displayed so you can view the DL students and chat box without your class seeing the gallery or at-home students.
The primary monitor and SMART Board will be “duplicated” so that you can project onto the SMART Board and share your screen at the same time allowing your in-person students to see the same shared screen as your at-home students.
Turn on computer, second monitor and SMART board
Make sure your SMART board is set to the HDMI setting
Choose the HDMI that is blue (meaning it is connected)
You should then see your computer desktop projected on the SMART board
On your computer,
right-click on your desktop
choose Display Settings
Click on “Identify” to see which display is which
If you do not see 3 display icons, then your SMART board may not be connected/talking to your computer:
Scroll down in the Settings window until you see the “Multiple Displays” drop down menu
Choose either Duplicate desktop on 1 and 2 or Duplicate desktop on 1 and 3 so that your computer monitor that has the Zoom Share screen will duplicate onto the SMART board
select Keep Changes when prompted
Your primary monitor and your SMART Board are now mirror images of each other. Your mouse will move between your primary monitor/SMART board and your second monitor. You can drag windows between screens by left clicking at the top of the window and dragging/dropping to one screen or another.
It will probably take some practice to get used to moving windows to different monitors!
