This week's main takeaways are:
Parent meetings hosted by the Counseling Center are coming up! 8th Grade parents, please join us for the 8th Grade Parent Meeting on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the Kolb.
As we kick off football season, please take a look at the flyer below about Terrier Athletic Club, consider joining us for our first home game pep rally of the year, and take a look at spirit dress guidelines! All available in this week's Hub.
It's less than two weeks to Terrier Tailgate! It's not too late to purchase tickets at a discount, donate, or volunteer.
This is a significant week in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. We will witness the Episcopal Ordination and Installation of Bishop-Elect Simon Peter. Included below is the schedule of events for the week and important information relative to student attendance.
In Christ,
Dr. LeBoeuf
Campus ministry is excited to offer class retreats for students to experience personal growth in their relationship with God and one another. All class retreats are mandatory. Please refrain from scheduling appointments on these dates. If a student is unable to attend a class retreat, he/she will need to attend an alternate approved faith experience during the school year. These events might be offered by Campus Ministry, the diocese, or a church parish and will often include a cost to participate. Please read the linked information below.
The Junior retreat is Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Permission forms are due Friday, September 5, 2025 and are available in the Forms folder in the Parent Plus Portals account.
The Sophomore retreat is Monday, Sept. 15.
The Freshmen retreat is Thursday, Sept. 25.
The 8th grade retreat is Monday, Nov. 10.
HOPE YOUTH FEST is being held on October 11, 2025 in Chatawa, MS from 9:00am to 9:00pm. The cost for attendance is $75. All students are invited to attend with St. Bernadette Church Parish. This one-day event will bring thousands of high school teens from the surrounding areas together to celebrate and encounter the Catholic faith. The day promises to ignite our hearts with music from The Vigil Project, along with talks and entertainment from Colin and Aimee MacIver, Kathleen Higgins, and Fr. Paul Gros. If that is not already exciting enough, the day will be emceed by Deacon Michael Parker! We will have confessions available, as well as adoration and will celebrate holy mass before Vigil Project takes the stage for praise and worship. Please email Katie Champagne at kchampagne@htdiocese.org to receive the unique registration link if your student would like to attend. *This event can count as a make up option if your student is unable to attend a class retreat.
Please see the information below regarding the Episcopal Ordination and Installation of the Very Reverend Simon Peter Engurait. It is a week of special events throughout the diocese, and we invite all of our Vandebilt family to consider attending some of the events hosted in Houma, including the Vespers reception, which is being held at VCHS in the Kolb on Thursday.
Any student who misses school on Friday afternoon to attend the Ordination and Installation will be excused for the afternoon (6th-8th periods) as long as a parent note is provided PRIOR to the event. We anticipate taking a small group of students to the event with our Campus Ministry and leaving school during 6th period. If any students are interested in attending with this group, please email Mrs. Katie Champagne by Tuesday at 3 p.m.
We ask all students who attend the Installation on Friday to wear their full uniform.
