✝️ Monday, Oct. 12 we will start the week off with Mass at 9:20am in the Kolb Center. Guests of honor will be our 2026 Homecoming Court, as well as our Golden Anniversary class of 1977.

March for Life

All 10th-12th grade students have the opportunity to attend the 2027 Youth March For Life Pilgrimage to Washington DC on January 18-23, 2027.  

Pilgrimage Stops:

• Dominican Sister in Nashville, TN

• Laying wreath at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier

• The Holocaust Museum

• Saint John Paul II Shrine

• Tour and Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

• Library of Congress

• Capital Tour

• The Memorial Walk

Mrs. Kayla Leblanc will accompany students from Vandebilt on this trip. Please complete the March for Life Interest Form by Friday, October 23, 2026 so she can reach out to you with more information.

Please check with your church parish who may have sponsorships and or fundraising options available to cover the cost of this trip. The cost of the trip is $850. All payments are due on Friday, November 20, 2026. There is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 6pm at the Pastoral Center.

Any 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students who plan to bring a VCHS 9th grader or a student from another school to the Homecoming Dance must have a Dance Permission Form filled out and signed by the visiting student's school administration and turned in for review no later than Wednesday, October 14. News/Information

Public schools will be closed on October 15 & 16. There will be no bus transportation on these days. 

Report cards will be posted to students' E-Lockers on PlusPortals on Friday, 10/16/26.

🐾 On Friday, Oct. 16, all TERRIER ALUMNI are invited to a pre-game tailgate starting at 4:30 pm in Champions Park (the grassy area between our football and baseball fields) with live music from Chad and Megan (‘11).Just look for the blue tent and our sign!

day tickets. Kickoff vs. Berwick is at 7pm. We will crown our 2026 Queen at halftime. (King will be crowned at the dance on Saturday.)

Homecoming Week - The Golden Age of Homecoming

Monday, October 12 - Mass Day - NO DRESS DOWN

Students should be in full, Mass day attire.

Tuesday, October 13 - Black & White Movies

Students may wear black and white shirts, black and white jeans, black and white socks, black and white tennis shoes/boots, light face paint (black and white dots), and bandanas, and girls may wear black and white accessories (headbands, ribbons, jewelry).

Wednesday, October 14 - West Egg vs. East Egg (Country vs. Country Club)

Students may dress in country attire or country club attire.

Country Attire: Students may wear western-style shirts, plaid shirts, jeans, cowboy boots, tennis shoes, cowboy hats (outside), western/cowboy belt buckles, denim jackets, bandanas, and socks, and girls may wear country accessories (headbands, ribbons, jewelry).

Country Club Attire: Students may wear golf shirts or Polo-style collared shirts, preppy sweaters, golf pants (Khakis), jeans, visors, golf gloves, tennis shoes, and socks, and girls may wear golf accessories (headbands, ribbons, jewelry). Students are NOT allowed to wear shorts, joggers, or sweatpants.

Thursday, October 15 - Lights, Camera, Action!: Stunt Doubles

Students may dress as twins or twinning groups as matching movie characters.   

Examples: Carter and Alex both dress as Buzz Lightyear; Daniella, Mackenzie, Aida, and Cayden all dress as Minions

Guidelines:

Outfits/characters must be school-appropriate.   

Students’ shirts must have sleeves. Students are NOT allowed to wear crop tops.     

Students must wear jeans or pants, including joggers and sweatpants (but no shorts or leggings). Jeans or pants may be any color.

Shoes must cover the front, top, sides, and back of the foot. 

Students may wear light face paint if appropriate (animal whiskers & nose, eye black).

Students are NOT allowed to cover their face with paint or wear masks.  

Students are NOT allowed to wear wigs, large headpieces, or inflatable costumes.

Students are NOT allowed to bring costume props. 

Friday, October 16 - Homecoming Game vs. Berwick -  Proud to Be a Terrier!

Students may wear blue and/or gold VCHS t-shirts, plain (no graphics) blue and/or gold shirts, blue and/or gold jeans, blue & gold tutus (worn over jeans), light face paint (blue and gold dots), tennis shoes/boots, bandanas, and socks, and girls may wear blue & gold accessories (headbands, ribbons, jewelry, make-up).

For the game, Terrier fans are asked to wear their best blue and gold as we cheer on the Terriers!

🚘 On Thursday, Oct. 15, our Homecoming parade starts at 5:30 p.m. along Hollywood Rd., followed by the pep rally in Kolb and party in the quad. See the graphic below for parade route and activity locations as well as parking and timing of road closures.

Counselor's Connection

The Louisiana Catholic Schools Students of the Year Awards Program recognizes outstanding students throughout the state in the areas of discipleship, leadership, service, citizenship, and academic achievement. The nomination window will begin this week. Please review the linked guidelines for the 8th grade selection process and 12 grade selection process. These documents are also available to review in the Counselor Connection section and in the students’ counseling center google classrooms. 

On November 5th,  The College of Liberal Arts at Nicholls State University will be hosting “Discover the Liberal Arts Day” on the Nicholls campus where high school students can attend engaging, hands-on sessions to learn more about the programs offered. These sessions include majors in Art, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, English, History, Mass Communication, Music, Political Science, and Social Work. Students can sign up to attend this field trip using Discover the Liberal Arts Day Registration Form.

SENIOR PARENT INFORMATION

The 2027–28 FAFSA is open. You can begin the application process by creating an FSA ID number. Each student and contributing parent will create an FSA ID. After creating a FSA ID number, you can begin the 2027-28 FAFSA Form. The following resources are available to assist you.

Senior Spotlights are due Friday, October 9, 2026. Students are responsible for completing this form from their vchterriers.org account. All parents received an email about this task. 

Senior parents are encouraged to visit the Senior Parent Checklist for additional resources establishing Student Hub Accounts and completing the FAFSA.
