☐  Senior Parents, please attend the Senior Parent Meeting: Monday, August 17th at 6:00pm in the Kolb Center. *This meeting covers all of the important senior year information such as college applications, scholarships, FAFSA, and more. Additionally, each week Mrs. Katie will update the Senior Parent Checklist as a resource for parents.

☐ [repeat]  Yearbooks can be ordered online here for the 2026-2027 school year. Online ordering is available now, and paper forms with payments will be collected starting on Orientation days. 2025-2026 yearbooks are no longer available for online orders. Copies can be purchased after the books arrive on a first come, first serve basis.

News/Information

Our Student Government has planned lots of fun activities this football season! Please take a look at our Spirit Dress Guide for this year! For the Thursday, August 20, scrimmage against HLB, students may may wear black VCHS spirit shirts, jeans, socks, and tennis shoes/boots. For the game, Terriers fans are asked to wear black for a “Black-Out”. Details are available in the linked guide.

All athletic events will be cashless. Tickets may be purchased online and onsite with credit cards, debit cards, or tap to pay. Concessions will also be cashless.

Student all-sport season passes are available on i2-tickets for $50.  Passes are good for all sports, for all home regular season games.

Please review the clear bag policy that will be in place at all athletic events this year.

**Parents & Students:** As tests and quizzes begin, please take a moment to review the **VCHS Makeup Policy**. Students are responsible for knowing what they have missed and for completing make-up work and assessments within the required timeframe. Following the make-up procedures promptly will help prevent unnecessary grade penalties or a zero for missed assessments.

Throughout the year, we have ten 50-minute test prep sessions that will take place at 9:20. Students will work with content area teachers on test-taking strategies as well as content material to prepare for standardized tests like the PreACT and ACT. All grade levels will participate in these targeted lessons. Seniors will sessions with our senior counselor and Nicholls State University reps about important college prep topics. Please avoid scheduling appointments during these sessions so all students can benefit from this new program. The dates are as follows:

8/17/26, 9/14/26, 9/28/26, 10/21/26, 12/7/26, 1/11/27, 1/25/27, 2/15/27, 3/1/27, 3/22/27.

If you purchase a new Chromebook, the device must be accompanied with the $35 fee for a new Google License. (The fee is included if you purchase a package through VCHS)

Back to School Night is next Thursday, August 27, beginning at 6 p.m.! Please join us in the Kolb at 6 p.m. for an introduction prior to visiting each of your child's classes. Back to School Night gives you the opportunity to meet your child's teachers. This night is different from the counseling department's class meetings described in the Counselor's Connection below. (Students need not attend either event.)

[repeat] Romaguera Portrait Make-ups will be held at all three lunch periods on Friday, August 21, 2026. (Boys are reminded to wear or bring a long-sleeved shirt and tie for the portrait.) This photo is used for school IDs and the annual yearbook. 

[repeat] School logo patches are in at Jake's Uniforms. Those who still need patches either for shirts or pants will have until August 21 to get the patches ironed on.

[repeat] You're Invited to Our Legacy Mass: 

• Join us as we celebrate the generations of families who have made Vandebilt Catholic a part of their story. Our Legacy Mass honors families with two or more generations of alumni or current students from Vandebilt Catholic High School, as well as our alumni of Houma Central Catholic High School and St. Francis de Sales High School.

• We invite all Legacy families to gather with us for this special tradition as we celebrate our shared faith, family, and the enduring legacy of Catholic education. Following Mass, Legacy families are invited to: Participate in a group Legacy Family photo; enjoy a light lunch; take a guided tour of campus; and capture individual Legacy Family photos.

• We look forward to welcoming generations of Terriers and celebrating the traditions that continue to unite our school community.

Counselor's Connection

When planning for your student to take the ACT this year, please note: 

• All seniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT during the school day on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

• All sophomores, juniors, and seniors will have the opportunity to take the ACT during the school day on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.
