The Victoria College Drama Society is an amateur theatre group whose roots lie in the foundation of Victoria University’s first Drama Society in 1918. Having existed for over a century, the Society has undergone myriad changes and today exists as a thriving student group. The Victoria College Drama Society (henceforth ‘VCDS’) is now firmly established as an active student group and levy receiver, recognised as such under the dictates of the Victoria University Students’ Administrative Council (VUSAC). As a student group, it is the VCDS’s mandate to provide a forum in which students and all other UofT community members of all disciplines and backgrounds, regardless of gender, sex, age, race, or religion, may share in the culturally enriching experiences of participating in every aspect of drama. VCDS seeks to educate and broaden the life experiences of all its members and the larger UofT community through drama and its associated disciplines.
