We have organized content from our Jump into Inquiry presentation on this site for easy access for participants AFTER the presentation has concluded. Many of the resources on this site are used in the Jump into Inquiry HyperDoc and the various Inquiry Teacher Planning Documents during our presentation. However, we recognize that quick access to various resources can also be helpful for you as you begin (or continue) your journey to include inquiry in your classroom.
Our work was heavily influenced by Trevor MacKenzie's Dive Into Inquiry book. MacKenzie is a secondary English teacher who freely shares insight into his journey to implement inquiry-based learning (IBL) in his classroom. We have adapted his practical approach and created step-by-step planning documents to help you JUMP into the shallow end of the inquiry pool because we aren't all ready to DIVE in headfirst!
If you followed along with the presentation, you should already have a copy of this Doc on your Google Drive.
This HyperDoc was created to offer a training document to support various types of learners, who are at different stages in the IBL process. The HyperDoc is also designed to offer instructional support long after our 1-hour session ends. The HyperDoc is a student lesson plan that is based on the 5E instructional model for teaching and learning. HyperDocs can help support IBL.
