Battle of the Books is a competitive team that will represent IMS in the city-wide competition sponsored by the VBPL in mid-January. Each grade level with have a team of five students which will meet weekly during the school day. Tryouts will be held during Eagle Time on September 10th.

Culture Club is a place where students who are interested in learning about different countries and cultures from around the world. We meet on the second Monday of each month ( except for Sept.- we will meet on Sept. 16th) Students will meet once a month and focus on different aspects of international cultures. We host an annual Culture Night in March of each year.

Independence Males Achieving Excellence: IMAX is an after school club where boys learn how to be young gentlemen and set high expectations for themselves. We meet on the first Monday of every month and sometimes take field trips. A snack is provided at the beginning of every meeting.

Model UN (Model United Nations) is an educational simulation where students role-play as delegates to the United Nations (UN). Participants research and represent a country, then debate international issues, propose solutions, and collaborate with others in committees at a city-wide middle school Model UN conference hosted by Tallwood High School. The goal is to understand diplomacy, negotiation, and global issues. Students develop skills like public speaking, research, critical thinking, and teamwork.

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is an organization that recognizes middle school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Students must be invited to apply and selected by a committee of staff members.

All IMS students are members of SCA. No permission slip is needed. Our meeting times vary due to student availability. Notification will go out for time changes via school announcement or student email. Our club is engaged in school and community activities, and service projects.

Wyldlife is a middle school program for Young Life. Wyldlife is a place for students who want to engage in fun activities, and learn about Jesus. It is a seeker friendly club that encourages students to find connection and value in the principles and truth of the Bible.
