What can I do with my child after they read?

• Ask them to retell the story orally or in writing
• Ask them to make a connection orally or in writing (When I heard... it reminded me of...)
• Ask them to describe the characters by giving character traits

How to Access Digital Resources from Home

1. Go to Glenwood’s website: http://www.glenwoodes.vbschools.com

◈Select STUDENTS ◈ Select Clever Portal

2. Click on: Log in with Active Directory

3. Sign in with student’s log-in information:

- Username is student’s ID number@vbstudents.com

(ex. 123456@vbstudents.com)

- Password is given by classroom teacher.

4. You are now logged into our digital resources!

Grading Scale

• N: Novice -Not making expected progress toward proficiency

• DP: Developing Proficiency -Beginning to grasp and apply key concepts, processes and skills

• P: Proficient -Regularly grasps and applies key concepts, processes and skills with limited errors

• AP: Advanced Proficient Consistently demonstrates proficiency: grasps, applies and extends key concepts, processes and skills

You and your child can access so many wonderful resources by visiting the Glenwood home page. Under "Students" on the menu bar, select "Library". From there, choose "Student Resources" from the menu on the left.

There are also many resources available on Clever. Access Clever through the Glenwood website. The students may choose to work on Xtra math, pebblego, and Smarty Ants at home for extra practice. Please ensure that your child is working independently. All of these programs offer the necessary assistance as your child works on the activities. You can also check out the ebooks sites like Tumble Book Library. Please do NOT complete class assignments in Brain Pop, Jr. Save those for school.
