On the 2nd October, we were thrilled to welcome a special guest to our Breakfast Club – Joe Swash! Joe came along to experience the wonderful atmosphere and nutritious breakfast options our children enjoy each morning, thanks to the support of the Greggs Foundation.
Our Breakfast Club offers a fantastic start to the day, with a healthy variety of foods including toast, crumpets, croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurts, and fresh water.
But it’s more than just breakfast! During the club, children can play games, share books, or catch up with friends, setting a positive tone for the day ahead. We know that starting the day in a calm and supportive environment helps children thrive both socially and academically.
If you’d like your child to join, we’d love to have them! [Click here to register].
At Vauxhall, we are dedicated to supporting every child not only in their academic growth but also in their social and emotional development. To achieve this, we continuously seek out and implement the best educational practices.
Recently, during an INSET (In-Service Training) day, our staff focused on an essential aspect of this commitment: children's rights. This training is part of our ongoing effort to create a school environment where every pupil feels safe, valued, and heard. By understanding and applying the principles of children’s rights, we aim to empower our pupils with the knowledge of their rights, both in school and in life.
Our staff’s training on children's rights helps us build an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning space where every pupil’s voice is acknowledged. We believe that this approach directly enhances the well-being and success of our pupils, encouraging them to grow into confident, respectful individuals ready to engage positively with the world around them.

Hi,
My name is Sayiesha and if I haven't managed to see you at drop off yet I would just like to introduce myself as the new Family Support Worker here at Vauxhall Primary. I am on hand to assist you with access and application to local services and provisions, and to help support you with attendance. I look forward to working with you, so that together, we can achieve the best outcomes for your child/children.
I am based at the school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so please feel free to come and have a chat, or if you prefer you can email me: familysupport@vauxhallprimary.org.uk.
World Mental Health Day took place on Thursday the 10th of March. The theme this year was mental health in the workplace so our wonderful wellbeing ambassadors decided to show their appreciation for all of the adults working at Vauxhall Primary. They made cards for each member of staff with inspirational messages showing what a difference they make to the pupils in our school.
Staff were really touched by the sentiment and many said that this “made their day!”

Wellbeing is a key focus here at our school, and we believe that by working together, we can support our children's mental and emotional health. We look forward to seeing you there!

Article 5 (parental guidance and a child’s evolving capacities)
The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is an online safety focus on 'YouTube'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
Article 17 (access to information from the media) Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.
A big well done to the pupils who earned the Headteacher’s Award this week! Your hard work really shows. Keep it up!
Let’s give a big round of applause to this week’s 'Going for Gold' stars! It’s so exciting to see our Wall of Fame fill up with your achievements. Well done to everyone who reached Gold this week—keep up the amazing work!
Congratulations to this week's Times Tables Rockstar champion! Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and you've shown amazing mastery of your multiplication skills. Keep up the great work, and continue to rock those times tables!
Important Attendance and Punctuality information
Consistent attendance helps ensure that pupils keep up with the curriculum and stay on track with their peers. It also allows children to build and maintain friendships, develop social skills, and participate in group activities
Please be reminded of the following:
Register Times:
Soft start from 8:45 AM
The school day starts at 8:50 AM.
The attendance register closes at 9:20 AM.
Marking Late Arrivals:
Arriving by 9:20 AM: If your child arrives between 9:00 AM and 9:20 AM, they will be marked as late (Code L).
Arriving after 9:20 AM: If your child arrives after 9:20 AM, they will be marked with an unauthorised absence for that session (Code U). 10 sessions (5 half days) of Unauthorised absence during a rolling 10 week period could lead to a fixed penalty notice of £80 if paid within 21 days or £160 if paid within 28 days.
Occasional lateness can be unavoidable, but regular punctuality is crucial for your child’s learning and development. We encourage you to make every effort for your child to attend school by 8:50 AM daily.
For more information, please check your inbox for a letter from the Lambeth Education Welfare Service, sent today, detailing the recent changes. Additionally, click here for latest government guidance on what parents need to know
