We are delighted to share that, following a visit from our assessor and an observer from the Mayor’s office, our school has once again been awarded Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Flagship Status! This prestigious recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of all the staff in creating and maintaining an inclusive environment for our school community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents and carers who shared their valuable insights with the assessor—your input is truly appreciated. A special acknowledgment goes to Mrs. R. Coombs, our Inclusion Lead, for her tireless efforts in coordinating and ensuring that our inclusive provisions are effectively in place.
We invite you to take a moment to [read the full report here].
The children have been working hard this term, so now it’s time to celebrate! Come along to the The Grinch After Party, where the children can dance, have fun, and enjoy a festive send-off for the holidays.
Children can come in their best party outfit. Let’s make it a night to remember—you’ve earned it!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Winter Market—it was a fantastic event filled with fun and community spirit! A special shoutout to our steel pan performers who made the event extra memorable. We truly appreciate your support!
Once we complete our final calculations, we will share the total amount raised and keep you updated on how the funds are being used to enhance the children’s experiences.
This week in maths, Reception learnt about composing numbers by investing the composition of 3, 4 and 5. Composing and decomposing numbers involves the children investigating part-part-whole relations. For example, 3 can be composed of I and 2. The children used dinosaurs for their exploration.
In Year 1, the children began an exciting DT project on windmills, learning about their purpose and key parts. The first design step focused on ensuring the windmill could stand independently. Using a paper cup as the base, they explored ways to make it stable, testing balance and using modelling dough for support. This hands-on session sparked creativity and problem-solving skills. Keep an eye out for their finished windmills!
Vauxhall Primary School is excited to collaborate with the Tower of London Superbloom Project to enhance our school gardens. This term, Year 3 voted to create a Garden Memorial Space—a peaceful place for the whole Vauxhall community to reflect and connect.
As part of the project, we’ve received a special mascot: a raven named Midnight, symbolizing calm, care, and community support. Midnight reminds us to care for ourselves, each other, and our shared spaces.
If there are any parent volunteers who have a passion for gardening and would like to help us bring our garden vision to life, please speak to Miss Edwin.
Your support would be greatly appreciated as we work together to create a beautiful, thriving space for all to enjoy. Stay tuned for updates as we watch our small garden transform—and as Midnight helps us grow in more ways than one!
In maths, Year 4 have been learning about money and have begun by identifying amounts of money up to £50. They had turns in giving their partner some money, which then their partner had to count and write on their whiteboards. The children enjoyed looking at specimen money and learning about all the different pound notes/coins and pence there are. They are now money experts!
Year 5 & 6 took part in a workshop run by the Black Curriculum, discussing the recent riots that occurred during summer. They learnt what constitutes a riot and how a riot is different from a protest. There were some excellent answers and ideas on how to prevent riots from happening and ways to protest. Well done to all.
Our Year 6 students have officially graduated from the Into University program, and what an incredible journey it’s been! One of the highlights was visiting King's College University, where they received an inspiring tour and learned about university life firsthand. Many parents came along to witness the event, which made it even more special and gave the children even more motivation for their future. We’re so proud of their achievements and can’t wait to see where their dreams take them next!
Year 6 have been busy creating amazing narrative poem scrolls inspired by The Promise. They used their creativity to explore themes of hope, friendship and promise, turning them into beautiful pieces of art. We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait for you to see the fantastic results!
The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is a online safety/well-being focus on 'Safety over the festive season'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
A huge congratulations to the pupils who earned the Rights Respecting Award this week! Your dedication to respecting and upholding everyone's rights truly shines. Keep up the fantastic work.
Let’s give a big round of applause to this week’s 'Going for Gold' stars! It’s so exciting to see our Wall of Fame fill up with your achievements. Well done to everyone who reached Gold this week—keep up the amazing work!
We’re excited to announce the winners of our poster competition for HG Construction. The children created posters on staying safe on a construction site. The children’s creativity and safety awareness were outstanding!
A huge congratulations to our Times Table Rock Stars for their outstanding achievements! We are thrilled to recognise our Most Valuable Players (MVPs) for their dedication and hard work. Their enthusiasm and effort in mastering their times tables is truly inspiring. Keep rocking those numbers!
Remember to encourage your child to practice every day for at least 5 minutes.
Attendance - Reporting your child’s absence
We kindly remind you of the importance of reporting your child's absence every day they are not able to attend school. If your child is ill, please ensure you inform us daily.
For a quick and easy way to report absences, we recommend downloading the Studybugs app. It allows you to communicate with us efficiently and ensures we are aware of your child's well-being.
