#WakeUpWednesday - Emotional Resilience
...+ our regularly updated Diary Dates, Term Dates, our weekly Headteacher Awards and TT Rockstars.
As we wrap up the first half of the Autumn Term, I want to take a moment to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together!
This month, we enjoyed engaging activities for Black History Month, fostering important discussions among our pupils. Mrs. Coombs led our Inclusive Quality Mark assessment, showcasing our commitment to inclusivity. Our Family Support Worker has been busy getting to know families, and our Parents' Cafes have created wonderful connections within our community.
I’m proud of how well our pupils have settled in and behaved this term. A highlight was having Joe Swash visit our breakfast club, thanks to Mrs. Henry—what an exciting morning for everyone!
Our talented HLTAs and Mr. McQuillan have kept our students active with various sports activities.
I’m incredibly grateful for our dedicated staff and the continued support from the Vauxhall community. Together, we’re making our school a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
Wishing you all a restful half term break!
We celebrated our "Good To Be Green" initiative with a fun trip to the park! The children had a blast enjoying outdoor activities while celebrating their achievements in staying green all term.
Our recent disco was a fantastic celebration of Black History Month! The children enjoyed dancing to music from Africa, the Caribbean, and British artists, all while reflecting on the importance of inclusivity and diversity. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn and celebrate the rich cultural contributions of different communities.
A big round of applause to our winner for the spot-on guess! The actual weight of the cake was 4.5kg, and their guess was impressively accurate. 🎂👏
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in our recent coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan. Your support made it a wonderful event!
A special shoutout to Ms Crawford (aka Camari's mum!) for the delicious cupcakes—they were a big hit! A big thank you to Ms Abi for the exquisite "Guess the Cake".
Together, we raised £197 for a great cause. We appreciate your contributions and look forward to more community events!

Park Play are looking to facilitate a free weekly play event on Bowling Green Street, using the new pedestrianised space with the table tennis tables, champ square and play trail. Park Play is a bit like Park Run in that it is a weekly free event on a Saturday morning which is run by local people for local people. More information here.
Lambeth Council would be supporting but the idea is that park Play would help local people to set up the event through training volunteers, providing play equipment etc. The weekly sessions are an intergenerational event for people to meet, move and play.
Park Play are currently getting the word out to people who may be interested in attending, or who may be interested in volunteering to help run the sessions or might know someone who is interested in doing this. You can register your interest here.
We’re thrilled to announce that we have bonus point codes to reward your incredible efforts in active travel! Your dedication to staying active and promoting a healthier lifestyle does not go unnoticed, and we want to ensure you’re recognised for it.
Keep tagging and earning points as you explore your community. Your hard work contributes to a vibrant, active environment, and these new codes are just a way for us to say thank you!

The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is an well-being focus on 'Emotional Resiliance Ratings'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.

Attendance and Punctuality
We understand that when children are unwell, it can be a challenging time for families. With seasonal illnesses on the rise, we want to extend our support to you as we work together to keep our school community as healthy as possible. In line with government health guidelines, we kindly ask that you keep your child at home for at least 48 hours after any episode of vomiting. This ensures they have time to fully recover and helps us prevent the spread of illness, protecting both children and staff.
Whole school: 95.45% 🎉🎉🎉
School attendance reached an impressive 95.45% this week! This fantastic achievement reflects your commitment and support in prioritising attendance—thank you for helping make this possible!
