Our recent bike market was a great success! Many children were able to purchase quality bikes, with the chance to try them out on-site. Experts were available to make adjustments and ensure each bike was the right fit, promoting both healthy and sustainable travel.
As a bonus, parents had the chance to mingle and enjoy the sunshine, getting to know each other while their children found the perfect bikes.
Thank you for donating your pre-loved bikes, allowing others to experience the joy of cycling. Your support promotes eco-friendly transport and helps children stay active and healthy.
Together, we’re making a positive impact on both our community and the environment.
Article 24 (health and health services) Every child has the right to the best possible health.
We are proud to be a Gold Rights Respecting School, meaning children's rights are at the heart of everything we do. Last week we focused on Article 24 (Health) of the UNCRC. Next week, we will focus on Article 7, which states that every child has the right to a name and nationality from birth. We will teach children about the importance of identity, belonging, and the right to be recognised as part of a community.

Some of you may remember that artists Will and Ellie from The Matchbox collaborated with some of our children in Key Stage 2 to design a mural for the wall in the local park on Vauxhall street. They were commissioned by Lambeth for this community project. Using ideas from our pupils as well as other community groups, they created three individual designs. Vauxhall children voted for their favourite and this design was then chosen. The mural is now complete and is a striking addition to our local area. While the weather is still pleasant, why not take a stroll and enjoy the artwork up close?
Article 31 When decisions are made about activities in the community, adults should include children in planning these.
This term Vauxhall City Farm are offering an Afterschool Club and Young Farmers programme that they will be running at the Farm.
Please take a look at Alpaca Post to see what they have been up to and for more information on all of their programmes!
Article 31 (leisure, play and culture) Every child has the right to the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artisitc activites.
StreetTag is back!
StreetTag is an app that encourages children and their families to be more active and to travel sustainably to school by turning the world around them into a virtual playground. You earn points in the app by walking, running, scooting or cycling to the virtual tags that have been placed throughout their community.
You are invited to join the Lambeth StreetTag School’s Leader Board download and use the app. There are three seasons planned; points earned during each seasons by everyone who has signed up to the leaderboard will be added to the total for the school with the following prizes to be awarded each season to the top five schools:
1st Place: £500, 2nd Place: £350, 3rd Place: £150, 4th Place: £100, 5th Place: £50 (to be awarded as sports vouchers).
The new season will run from October 3rd to December 2nd.
Last season, thanks to all your your hard work, determination and active travelling, Vauxhall Primary finished 5th place!

The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is an online safety focus on the gaming platform 'Final Fantasy XIV'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
Article 17 (access to information from the media) Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.

Promoting attendance
The foundation for good attendance is a strong partnership between the school, parents and the child. Here at Vauxhall, we use a range of strategies to promote and celebrate pupils’ attendance. These include:
Creating a welcoming and engaging school environment where students feel valued and excited to learn.
Staff building strong relationships with pupils to foster a sense of belonging.
Celebrating the class with the highest attendance in weekly Achievement assembly
Closely monitoring attendance and follow up on any unexplained absences.
Offering support and working with parents to address any barriers to attendance
Remember, attendance is everyone’s responsibility and we are here to help!
