As the days grow warmer, we're enjoying the sunshine (fingers crossed it lasts!). Remember to apply sunscreen diligently to your child, even on cloudy days, and ensure they wear a hat for added protection on their face, ears, and neck. No matter your age, skin type, or skin colour, you’ll always need sun protection.
Please can we remind you to send a water bottle everyday with your child. Especially as the weather turns warmer, it is important that they can keep hydrated throughout the school day. These can be refilled at school but they need to bring their own bottle. We will encourage your child(ren) to refill their bottles during breaks to minimise disruptions to their learning.
Thank you.

The children in EYFS and Year 1 have been learning about the life cycle of a Butterfly. The children have been lucky enough to keep the caterpillars and watch them grow as they progress through the life cycle. The children have learnt about the the different stages- caterpillar, pupa, chrysalis, butterfly.
The butterflies are currently resting inside the chrysalis. In around 7-14 days the chrysalis will split open and the butterflies will crawl out!
Here are some of the Nursery's children's words from their experience:
"it's a Pupa"
" its sugar food, smells like banana"
"The pupa is moving because they're sleeping"
"Cocoon"
"Mixing, mixing , mixing" - the sugar water.
``They were tiny"
On Tuesday, Year 1 had the opportunity to Visit Vauxhall City Farm. They were able to get up close and meet some of the animals that live on the farm, such as the rabbits and a chinchilla - they even had the chance to hold a guinea pig!
The children then had lots of fun feeding the alpacas, sheep and goats.
On Friday, Year 4 visited the London Transport Museum, they had the opportunity to take part in a workshop-“Time Travellers”, where they learnt about how transport has developed from over 200 years ago. They learnt about the theme of British history which helped develop their chronological knowledge beyond 1066.
Early Years have planted apple trees and herbs in pots and tyres. The children have been watering the plants using watering cans. EYFS are looking forward to harvesting their potatoes, onions, beans and strawberries soon. They have had so much fun, as you can see in the pictures!
