I am thrilled to share updates, highlights, and important information with you through this newsletter. Within these pages, you’ll find insights into recent school events, pupil achievements, upcoming initiatives, and reminders about important dates. Our aim is to keep you well-informed and involved in the vibrant life of our school community.
This week, we said farewell to Mrs. Syeda Rizvi, a valued member of Vauxhall Primary School for 14 years. She's retired, moving on to new adventures. Mrs. Rizvi was well-loved and experienced within our community, and her presence will be missed by all. Join me in wishing her the best of luck in this new phase.
Special invitation to parents and children of Vauxhall Primary School - The London Cargo Bike Festival
The London Cargo Bike Festival will be taking place on Friday 10th May from 16.00 at the KIA Oval - www.cargobikefestival.uk
The Cargo Bike Festival is a celebration of all things cargo bike and is a family fun event with cargo bike try-outs, children’s balance bike area, children's entertainment, food, drinks and music.
The event provides parents with an opportunity to demo hundreds of cargo bikes and speak with experts about cargo buy ownership, insurance, maintenance as well as the wide ranging benefits of owning a cargo bike for a wide range of uses.
The first 10 places are free of charge to local schools. To register for your free tickets, sign up here

Our Summer Fayre is fast approaching and this year it is going to be bigger than ever! In preparation for the Summer Sizzler, we are kindly asking for your help. If you are able to donate any items for our raffle or contributions in any other way your help would be greatly appreciated. Please bring any donations to the school office.

We are excited to announce the launch of season 2 of the Street Tag Program for Lambeth Schools scheduled to commence on 8th May. The current leaderboard will be reset to zero to ensure a fresh and fair start.
StreetTag is an app that encourages children and their families to be more active and to travel sustainably to school by turning the world around them into a virtual playground.
We are encouraging families, teachers and staff to download and use the StreetTag app (if you haven't already). The more users we have, the higher chance we have of winning amazing prizes!
The school with the following prizes to be awarded each season to the top five schools:
1st Place: £500, 2nd Place: £350, 3rd Place: £150, 4th Place: £100, 5th Place: £50 (to be awarded as sports vouchers).

As part of our online safety offer, each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.

Parent Zone resources:
You can access a number of free resources through Parent Zone Local. Resources include free access to their library, where you can find out more about specific platforms such as Snapchat and TikTok, and a 20 minute virtual training session designed to help you nurture your child's digital resilience.

Article 17 (access to information from the media) Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.

Should I send my child to school?
Deciding whether to send your child to school or keep them at home can be challenging, but here are some tips to help you make an informed decision:
When to Send Your Child to School:
When they're feeling well and able to participate comfortably in activities.
For minor illnesses like a mild cold or headache that don't significantly affect their ability to learn.
When Not to Send Your Child to School:
If they have a contagious illness like fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.
When they have severe symptoms that impact their ability to concentrate or function.
During the recovery period after an illness or injury.
