As you may have seen in the media, cases of measles are rising across England, including among children. It’s an infection that spreads very easily and for some people can cause serious problems.
As there’s no specific medical treatment for measles, the Government recommends that the best protection for children and adults against measles and becoming seriously unwell is to get both doses of the MMR vaccine.
Please click on the below for more information.
What to do if you think your child has measles
Finally, I would like to take a moment to remind everyone of our school uniform expectations. Our uniform not only fosters a sense of belonging and pride in our school community but also reflects our commitment excellence. See below for what is expected.
Thank you again for your continued support.
Please ensure that your child/children wear school colours (with or without logo):
Navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans
Grey skirts/trousers
White polo shirts/shirts
Black school shoes NOT trainers
Tie and shirt (Year 5 & 6 only)
In addition, your child/children needs to wear school colours as part of their P.E kit (with or without logo).
Navy blue shorts/joggers
Navy blue t-shirts/hoodies
Navy/black trainers
For health and safety reasons only small studs no hoops or dangly earrings and no necklaces or rings.
Please also ensure that your child’s name is written on their belongings so we can give mislaid items back to their owner!
We want to inform you about a new measure we're implementing for the safety and well-being of our pupils. From now on, in addition to the letter home, any pupil who experiences a head bump will be given a yellow 'Oops, I've had a bump today' wristband immediately. This wristband (featured above) serves as a visual cue for all adults in the school, enabling us to monitor and support the pupil wherever they are, whether in the classroom or on the playground.
Additionally, this wristband will serve as a notification for you or any adult who picks them up. By seeing the wristband, you'll be aware of the situation and can continue the observation at home if necessary.
We believe that this initiative will enhance our ability to ensure the safety and care of our pupils, and we appreciate your cooperation and support in this matter.
As part of our online safety offer, each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week the online safety focus is information about 'Managing Screen Time'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
