Christmas Jumper Day

On Thursday 7th December,  we will be taking part in Christmas Jumper Day.  On this day, we would like to invite the children to wear a festive/winter jumper. There’s no need to splash out on snazzy new jumpers to join in the fun: you could borrow or decorate a jumper with a Christmas theme.

If you wish to donate to the Save the Children Charity, you can do so by clicking the donate button below. The money we raise will go to Save the Children, making sure every child, no matter where they’re born, has essentials like food and water, healthcare, education, protection and shelter.

We’d really appreciate your support to make Christmas Jumper Day a success – it’s a great cause, so together, we can make the world better in our jumpers!

Article 6 (life, survival and development) Every child has the right to life. Governments must do all they can to ensure that children survive and develop to their full potential.

Vauxhall's Winter Market

Come and join in the fun!

Vauxhall's Winter Market will be taking place on Thursday 7th December from 3.20pm.  There will be a variety of stalls and activities for you to enjoy.  Come along and rejoice in food, music and fun! The market will take place outside, so make sure you wrap up warm - or better yet, treat yourself to a hot chocolate to warm you up!

If you are planning on bringing a cooked dish for the Winter Market, please inform Ms Henry or Miss Pilgrim.

Oral Health Visit

On Thursday 30th November, a dental nurse from Kings College Hospital, visited the school and delivered sessions to some of the classes (EYFS, Year 1, Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6. The session focused on oral health. The children learnt about the importance of dental hygiene and recognised ways in which they could ensure that can keep their teeth clean. The children had the opportunity to ask questions which really gave them more of an insight into the importance of oral health.

Article 24 (health and health services) Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy.

Staying Safe Online

online-safety-act.pdf

E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Vauxhall Primary School.  E-Safety is taught as a unit of ICT and E-safety rules are given at the start of every ICT lesson. We also celebrate E-safety day once a year.

We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the E-Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.

This week the online safety focus is 'The Online Safety Act'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
