Article 29 (goals of education) Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.
This week both Year 1 and Year 4 Visited Pizza Express as part of their Design and Technology topic. They learnt about cooking pizzas and had loads of fun along the way.
Everyone had the chance to knead the dough, making it lovely and smooth, and created the perfect base. They then discovered just how important the fresh ingredients are to the pizza’s flavour.
Year 1 and 4 then took their pizzas back to school and enjoyed them!
In the fast and ever-changing online world, it is vital that we are able to keep up to date. At Vauxhall Primary School, we take online safety very seriously and encourage all pupils to use ICT and the internet in a safe and responsible manner.
In school, all filters and restrictions are set to the necessary level and pupils are closely monitored at all times while accessing ICT. Online safety is covered termly as part of our curriculum.
There are several good websites that provide additional information to support you, these include:
Childline: Staying Safe Online
Childnet: Parent & Carers Toolkit
NSPCC - Keeping children safe online
This week the online safety focus is a 'Smartphones'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.

This week’s Attendance Award Cup and Punctuality Owl goes to Year 1 with 97% of pupils attending in their class!
Well done!
Punctuality Owl goes to Year 2 with 98% of pupils attending school on time this week.
The Government’s as well as the school’s expectation is that all children should have an attendance figure of 95-97%, and we are committed to working with you to achieve this. We are urging parents not to book holidays in term time as your child will miss vital chunks of learning which could have a detrimental effect on their progress. In line with Lambeth’s guidance, we will not authorise any holidays in term time, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Punctuality is also important, as lateness can affect pupils' progress. We will be closely monitoring punctuality and will put strategies in place to support pupils who are persistently late. The school gate opens for a soft start from 8:45 am and the register closes at 9:05 am. Thank you for your support.
