As part of our ongoing efforts to support all students, we are organising a collection of spare and pre-loved school uniforms. These donations will be made available to students who may need them throughout the school year.
If you have any gently used uniforms that your child has outgrown or no longer needs, we kindly ask you to consider donating them to our school. This initiative not only helps ensure that every student has access to the appropriate attire but also promotes sustainability within our community.
Please bring your donations to the school office. We appreciate your generosity and support in helping us provide for all our students.
The Department of Education have made a number of changes to school attendance that will come into effect from the 1st September 2024.
Here are a few of the key changes you need to know - Part 1:
It will be compulsory for schools to share their daily attendance data with the local authority/government.
Schools will have to consider a fine if a pupil misses 10 sessions (half days or 5 full days) of unauthorised absence in a rolling period of 10 school weeks
The 10 sessions can be calculated as “any combination of unauthorised absence”. For example, four sessions (2 days) in term time plus six instances of arriving late.
The fine for school absences across the country will be £80 if paid within 21 days, or £160 if paid within 28 days
In the case of repeated fines, if a parent receives a second fine for the same child within any three-year period, this will be charged at the higher rate of £160.
Once this limit has been reached, other actions like a parenting order or prosecution will be considered.
If you’re prosecuted and attend court because your child hasn’t been attending school, you could get a fine of up to £2,500.
We are dedicated to working closely with families to address any barriers to attendance. Our approach is personalised, ensuring we provide the right support tailored to your needs. This includes guiding you to additional resources and support outside of school. Please feel free to reach out to our attendance team at any time; they are here to assist you and answer any questions you may have. Together, we can improve attendance and create a supportive environment for your child's success.

To celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the PE department at Vauxhall Primary School will be motivating the children into following these prestigious games and become inspired by the incredible athletes who take part in them.
As a whole school initiative, we plan for the children to make a virtual run from Vauxhall to Paris. This will involve every pupil running, jogging, or walking 3km - approximately 15 laps of the school playground.
Our hope is that you, your family and friends can support the children and the school by sponsoring them in this endeavour.
All proceeds will go towards providing new PE equipment to maintain our comprehensive curriculum, including two basketball posts for the playground.
Thank you for your support.
Surrey Cricket Foundation, England Cricket Board and the Mawbey Estate would like to offer the children an opportunity to be a part of two bespoke All Stars cricket (5-8 years old) & Dynamos cricket (9–11-year-old) Programmes this summer. Below are the venues that they are running.

The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is an online safety focus - Online Trolling. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
Article 17 (access to information from the media) Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.
