This week, there was a buzz of excitement as the children had the opportunity to create nutritious smoothies using a smoothie bike provided by our wonderful catering company. Not only did the pupils get some exercise and enjoy a smoothie for their efforts, but they also took home activity books to share with their families.
Why not try using up fruit at home to make your own smoothie?
The Department of Education have made a number of changes to school attendance that will come into effect from the 1st September 2024.
Here are a few of the key changes you need to know - Part 2:
Parents are required to report their children's absence on the first day of absence and provide a valid reason. Schools will follow up on unexplained absences to ensure student safety and well-being.
If a child is absent due to illness that exceeds three consecutive days, you will be required to provide medical evidence, such as a doctor’s note, or prescription to justify the absence.
Leave of absence during term time will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. Requests for such leave must be submitted in writing to the headteacher, well in advance, and unauthorised absences may result in penalties.
We are dedicated to working closely with families to address any barriers to attendance. Our approach is personalised, ensuring we provide the right support tailored to your needs. This includes guiding you to additional resources and support outside of school. Please feel free to reach out to our attendance team at any time; they are here to assist you and answer any questions you may have. Together, we can improve attendance and create a supportive environment for your child's success.
Article 28 (right to education) Every child has the right to an education.
We are excited to remind you that our school's Summer Sizzler is just around the corner! Join us on the 17th of July at 3:30pm for an afternoon filled with fun, games, and community spirit.
There is still time to donate items for our raffle and stalls. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and help make this event a success. Please consider donating any items you can, and drop them off at the school office.
We look forward to seeing you there and encourage you to invite your friends and family to join in the festivities. Let’s make this Summer Fair the best one yet!
Thank you for your continued support.
Early Years had a fabulous time in the sun, which kept shining all the way through sports day! The children did a great job at balancing a beanbag on their heads, attempting an obstacle course and running a race! Thank you for all the parents who came and cheered on the children and for those who helped during set up!
It is with a mix of joy and sadness that we announce the departure of our beloved Reception teacher, Ms Yasmin, who will be moving on to new and exciting opportunities. For the past decade, Ms Yasmin has been an integral part of our school community, bringing warmth, creativity, and dedication to the classroom every day.
Please join us in wishing Ms Yasmin all the best in her future endeavors. We know she will continue to inspire and educate wherever her journey takes her.
Excitement filled the air as Year 3 and 4 pupils gathered at Brixton Rec for a thrilling sports-inspired festival. The event, which saw young athletes compete in a variety of events, was a resounding success, showcasing teamwork, determination, and the joy of sports.
The sports festival was an unforgettable day for Year 3 and 4, leaving them inspired and eager for more athletic adventures. This event not only highlighted their talents but also reinforced the importance of staying active and healthy.
We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that our students have successfully completed a sponsored Olympic run to celebrate the upcoming Olympics in Paris! Their enthusiasm, determination, and team spirit were truly inspiring as they ran their hearts out for a great cause.
Now, it's your turn to join in the celebration and support their incredible efforts. The funds raised from this event will go towards providing new PE equipment to maintain our comprehensive curriculum, including two basketball posts for the playground.
Please consider making a donation to recognise and support the hard work and dedication of our young athletes. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference and helps us achieve our goals.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support.
