We’re excited to announce that Vauxhall Primary School will be hosting a Bike Market! This is a fantastic opportunity for families to buy affordable, quality-checked second-hand bikes or sell outgrown ones, all while promoting a healthy, eco-friendly way to get around.
Event Details: 📅 Date: 18th September 2024
🕒 Time: 10.00am and 3.20pm
📍 Location: Vauxhall Primary School Playground
Whether you're looking to purchase a bike, sell a bike, or just want to browse and join in the fun, we’d love to see you there! For more information, feel free to contact the school office.
How it works:
Donate your outgrown, unwanted bikes in the morning 10.00am - Peddle My Wheels will spend the day getting them ready. Proceeds from the sale of donated bikes will go back to your school.
After school - 3.20pm - you can buy a serviced, affordable, used bike (you can pay by cash or card).
Let’s make cycling accessible to all—see you at the Bike Market! 🚲

StreetTag is back!
StreetTag is an app that encourages children and their families to be more active and to travel sustainably to school by turning the world around them into a virtual playground. You earn points in the app by walking, running, scooting or cycling to the virtual tags that have been placed throughout their community.
You are invited to join the Lambeth StreetTag School’s Leader Board download and use the app. There are three seasons planned; points earned during each seasons by everyone who has signed up to the leaderboard will be added to the total for the school with the following prizes to be awarded each season to the top five schools:
1st Place: £500, 2nd Place: £350, 3rd Place: £150, 4th Place: £100, 5th Place: £50 (to be awarded as sports vouchers).
The new season will run from October 3rd to December 2nd.
Last season, thanks to all your your hard work, determination and active travelling, Vauxhall Primary finished 5th place!

The 'WakeUpWednesday' guides empower and equip parents, carers and educators with the confidence and practical skills to be able to have informed and age-appropriate conversations with children about online safety, mental health and well-being, and climate change.
Each week we will post a relevant guide to support our school community's knowledge and understanding of how to keep safe online and new things to be aware of.
This week is an online safety focus on 'Supporting Children to Manage Conflict Effectively'. Please click on the PDF to enlarge it.
Article 17 (access to information from the media) Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.

Attendance and Punctuality
Punctuality is just as crucial as regular attendance for pupils. Punctuality ensures that pupils:
Make the most of their learning time
Do not miss out on important instructions or the start of lessons
Can fully participate in classroom activities from the beginning
Register Times:
Soft start from 8:45 AM
The school day starts at 8:50 AM.
The attendance register closes at 9:20 AM.
Marking Late Arrivals:
Arriving by 9:20 AM: If your child arrives between 9:00 AM and 9:20 AM, they will be marked as late (Code L).
Arriving after 9:20 AM: If your child arrives after 9:20 AM, they will be marked with an unauthorised absence for that session (Code U).
We understand that occasional lateness can be unavoidable, but regular punctuality is important for your child’s learning and development. We encourage you to make every effort for your child to attend school by 8:50 AM daily.
