FARS 2021

"Science for better dawn"

The second Faculty Annual Research Session (FARS 2021) of the Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya, Sri Lanka, was held on September 15, 2021, on the theme “Science for better dawn”. The FARS 2021 encouraged full paper submissions on the following tracks from academics, researchers, scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students.

  • Track 1: Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Animal Science

  • Track 2: Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computing

  • Track 3: Biodiversity, Environmental Science, and Environmental Resource Management

  • Track 4: Computer Science, and Internet Technology

  • Track 5: Information Technology, and Information Communication Technology

As part of the FARS 2021, the second annual student research congress (ASRC 2021) was arranged to encourage abstract submissions from undergraduates in Sri Lanka. ASRC 2021 was funded by AHEAD ELTA-ELSE, Faculty Development Project, Faculty of Applied Science, University of Vavuniya.

This was the first research session at the University of Vavuniya.

Prof. P. Umaharan (Professor of Genetics, Director, Cocoa Research Centre, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago) and Dr M. Sabesan (Senior Database Engineer, Amazon Web Services (AWS), 2100 University Ave, East Palo Alto, CA 94303, USA) were delivered the keynote speeches at this event.
