Professional Experience

• Organized postgraduate symposium at the Department of Economics, inviting speakers, coordinating with departmental staffs, and arranging associated social activities for the participants and students.

• Country Coordinator of the South Asian Economic student meet, annual conference of economics students of South Asia, for two years. I directed groups of Sri Lankan students at conferences held in India (2011) and Nepal (2012).

• Involved in several policy-related research projects for the Sri Lankan government. In particular, I was one of the members of the Thematic Working Groups, which prepared the policy document, “The National Human Resources and Employment Policy for Sri Lanka”, for the Secretariat for Senior Ministers, Sri Lanka, 2012.

• Resource person in the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Sri Lanka to conduct a seminar for Economics teachers from 2006 to June 2013.

• Chief Examiner for G.C.E (A/L) Examination and a member of the scrutinizing board of Advance Level examination conducted by the Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka from 2006 to June 2013.

• Participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program on “Global Economic Cooperation and Recovery” – June 20th to July 8th, 2011 in the United States of America.

• Participated and presented a research paper to the Fifth Meeting of RETA 6417: Supporting Network of Research Institutes and Think Tanks in South Asia Phase II 3-4 December 2009 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
