New Year Celebration - 2023
Pongal Celebration 2023
The Harmony Centre of the University of Vavuniya conjointly with the Students' Union of the University of Vavuniya arranged and celebrated the "THAI PONGAL" on 27th of January, 2022, at 12.00 Noon in the University premises.
Christmas Celebration (16/12/2022)
On 16th of December, the Harmony Centre and Christian Society of the University of Vavuniya Jointly organized the Christmas Celebration and Light festival, which focused on exposing the importance of Christmas. The celebration was commenced with the prayer and welcoming of chief guest, special guests and guests of honor, religious leaders and special invitees at 1.00 pm. Welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Mathivathany, Director/Harmony Centre of the University of Vavuniya. Dr.J.Nimalan/ Dean Faculty of Applied Science Acting Vice Chancellor attended to the program as chief guest. Rev. Father S.Yeganathan, Rev. Fathr Jesman, Rev. Ahokkumar were invited as Special guests for this program.
“Vanni Vizha” - Saraswathy Pooja

The University of Vavuniya's Harmony Center organized the celebration of “Vanni Vizha” of the Saraswathy Pooja on 5th of October 2022 from 10.00 A.M to 12.30p.m at LHI, Faculty of Technological Studies, University of Vavuniya. The celebration's main goals were to highlight the significance of the Hindu cultural programs in related to the Education and integrate the students, staff members and communities. To memorialize “Vanni Vizha” of the Saraswathy Pooja, various Hindu cultural competitions and programs were arranged.
New Year Celebration

To mark the annual celebrations of new year for the year 2022, a grand cultural program was attended in our University of Vavuniya premises, under the guidance of our Students' Union and Harmony Centre on 1st of May 2022. University welcomed the arrival of the new year with great passion and enthusiasm. All the students and staff were United to celebrate with joy, refreshment and entertainment.
Ramadan Cultural Event
On 9th of May, Harmony Centre and students’ Union of the University of Vavuniya organized the Ramadan cultural event which focused on promoting the importance of Ramadan and demonstrated how the celebrations looks alike.
The carnival was commenced with the welcoming of Chief guest, Religious leaders and Special invitiees at 2.00 pm. In carnival ethnic wear of Islamic culture, hijab try on stall for girls and Jubbah try on stall for boys were arranged and in additional to clearout common doubts relates with Islam, Questions and answer session was arranged.
Nearly 350 participants were attended to the Ramadan Islamic Cultural program and shared their cultural values, traditions, customs and rituals.
THAI PONGAL Ceremony
The Harmony Centre of the University of Vavuniya conjointly with the Students' Union of the University of Vavuniya arranged and celebrated the "THAI PONGAL" ceremony on 28th of January, 2022, at 12.00 noon in the University premises.
Nearly 200 participants were participated in physical mode and via zoom platform. Pongal was made near the round a board of the main university place and prayer also were happened on that place. Invitees were actively gathered there and Vice Chancellor of the University started the program. Deans of the Faculties, Directors of the Units and Centres, Heads of the Departments, external Council members, religious leaders, academic and non-academic staff members and students were invited and done the prayer for the sun.
