About Cuba on Film

Cuba on Film gathers all film material (DVD, VHS) held at Vassar College's Thompson Memorial Library pertaining to Cuba. It organizes those films in a searchable and amply annotated database. And it supplements those holdings with links to film material pertaining to Cuba that has been digitized and is available online.

Cuba on Film seeks to aid students and scholars. To that end, it offers ancillary online resources that align film material topically, opening new paths to information and research across disciplines in the humanities and the social sciences.

Cuba on Film is not a bibliography of scholarly books and articles. Instead, it offers links to curated selections of pertinent journalism and informational pieces—written and recorded—that suggest or reveal honeycomb like cells of study and inquiry consonant with, or illustrative of, disciplinary regard.

Cuba on Film is and ought to remain a work in progress. Its builders and stewards welcome any recommendations and emendations.
