Progress Report for Year 5
The supporting values will provide guidance for the implementation of the main objectives and all of the supporting goals. These values will be applied across all initiatives to ensure the work we do supports our mission and is aligned with the mission of the college in a meaningful way.
Accessibility: We will collaborate with the The Office of Accessibility and interested student organizations to ensure that our objectives and goals meet college standards to provide the community with full access to resources, education, and services.
Customer Experience: We will continue to provide a high-standard of service to the members of the Vassar community. We will engage students, faculty and employees to understand their needs and help us to shape our initiatives with those needs at the forefront.
Data: We will leverage data to support our decision-making while we remain steadfast in our commitment to work to protect the privacy of members of the Vassar community, protect all confidential information, and promote a culture that values privacy through awareness.
Employee Development: We will continually assess the skills possessed within the CIS organization, leverage their strengths, cross-train where necessary, and provide professional development opportunities to address gaps and strengthen our existing, shared skills.
Financial Stewardship: We will carefully and responsibly manage the budget of the Computing and Information Service organization. We will collaborate with the office of Finance and Administration, and our partners across campus, to make the best financial decisions related to the technology needs of the college.
Inclusion: We will work to create an inclusive environment that fosters creativity and innovation and promotes participation.
Change Management: We will work to ensure that new technology initiatives carefully consider their effect on existing business processes, support changes to those processes and facilitate adoption through clear and transparent communication and education.
Engagement: Through communication, relationships and continuous feedback will foster a meaningful connection between the work we do and the community at large.
Sustainability: We will work to support the Office of Sustainability and the college in its mission to reach carbon neutrality and reducing the environmental impact of the college’s operations.
