Are conceding 2 early goals, Varndean worked hard to get back into the game and scored twice before half time with goals from Nureeza and Daisy. It remained 2-2 and a penalty shootout looked likely, before PCS scored 2 goals in quick succession.

Having lost heavily to PCS at the start of the season, this made the Varndean performance even more impressive.

Having beaten Brighton College in the semi final the boys were up against The Weald in the Final. Both sides started strongly with some big carries and tackles early in the game. At the half way mark there was nothing to separate the sides with the score at 10-10.

After the half time break and an adjustment to the tactics Varndean struck early after Sam B gathered the restart and offloaded to Sam D who ran 50 metres to score under the posts. The mindset and attitude from all of the players was fantastic and they continued to play some of the best rugby they have produced this year.

The Y10 netball team were in action this afternoon (14/3/23). Daria the team captain has written a match report:

We came 4th out of 6 teams, scoring a great amount of shots.

We had to make some last minute team changes however, this did not hinder us and all of the year 9s who were playing up a year were really good.

In my opinion Rudi and Jodie were the star players, having great interceptions.

WWW: amazing interceptions, defence was strong. Everyone was happy and motivated, no one got hurt and there were great tactics and lovely movement (especially from Annabel)

EBI: Make sure we take our time during passes, as many passes went to the other team. Also making sure that we get the rebound when shooting, keeping the ball on court. Work on footwork, and keeping 1 metre when defending.

Overall: Amazing work, I am really proud of our team :)
