Enrichments run from September to February Half Term
You need to choose one enrichment to include on your timetable.
There are five categories to choose from, but you can only select one enrichment session from one category.
You can choose one of the following:
Amnesty Youth Group
To raise awareness among our students of global human rights issues and of Amnesty’s current campaigns. To get students involved in planning and running fundraising and campaigning activities for Amnesty (this could include events, letter writing, petitions etc)
Carbon Literacy Qualification and Climate Action
All students will work towards achieving the Carbon Literacy Qualification. Once they are certified, we will work as a group on our carbon pledges to take action on climate change around the college and in the wider community.
D 'n' D
Table top role playing games - TTRPGs (of which DnD is the biggest but not the only example) are a hugely rewarding hobby that helps people learn useful skills (including mental maths, problem solving and teamwork), develop lifelong friendships, and which promote better mental health.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champions
This student-led group is for people from minority groups, where minority voices can be heard without needing to focus on questions from a majority point of view. Everyone is welcome to join.
Film Club
Watch cult classics, your favourite film, discover films from all over the world
Magic the Gathering
The Magic the Gathering Club is a weekly group, appropriate for beginners or more advanced players, to learn, build, trade cards and play Magic the Gathering.
Magic the Gathering is a challenging, technical and competitive card game, allowing for players to outwit and out-logic their opponents. It teaches and reinforces maths, logic, sequencing and lateral thinking.
Politics Society
Weekly meetings with a broad range of speakers – local MPs, Councillors, activists, journalists, academics and many more. A chance to meet, discuss, contest and listen to viewpoints you may have never considered before.
Pride
You will have the opportunity to build social links with those in attendance and develop a community group within the College. You will explore a range of aspects from LGBTQ+ history and culture, and will build a Tutorial resource where you can share your thoughts, ideas and perspectives with the whole student cohort. You will explore tasks which encourage debate, communication and organisation. This will develop your communication and group skills throughout the year. Pride is an enrichment that is open to all students and staff. It is a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies; all are welcome.
Nintendo Club
Chat Nintendo, discuss Nintendo & play Nintendo videogames. A chance to meet others who own a Switch, 3DS or other Handheld console. Discuss current trends, share recommendations and play some games.
Ideal for anyone genuinely interested in videogames, the videogame industry or videogame culture. You must have a Nintendo Switch, 3DS or other handheld game console (NOT a phone), to join this enrichment.
