Meet My Uncle Carl!
My Uncle Carl is a super cool space scientist! He works at a special place called the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He's had an amazing career working on all sorts of space missions. Here are some of the exciting things he's done:
Parker Solar Pro: Uncle Carl helped manage a project that sent a spaceship closer to the Sun than ever before.
New Horizons: He was involved in the mission that flew by Pluto and sent back incredible pictures.
Europa Clipper: He’s working on a spaceship that will explore one of Jupiter’s moons, which might have an ocean under its icy surface.
Uncle Carl has also worked on missions to other planets like Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn. He's even helped launch rockets!
He studied at the University of Washington and has over 35 years of experience in building and testing spaceships. He’s worked all around the world, including in Germany and Washington state.
When he’s not busy with space missions, Uncle Carl loves to share his knowledge and help others learn about space and rockets. Isn’t that awesome?
