From June 15 through August 15, readers are invited to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge by reading at least 40 days. Summer Reading is all about the joy of engaging with stories and information and any way you do it counts. Comic, audiobook, magazine, chapter book, picture book: if you’re reading (or listening), it counts! Children are encouraged to to track each day they spend reading to earn prizes. What's more, all summer long, our libraries will host programs and events to keep your curiosity growing!
Step 1: Sign Up and Pick a Book
Sign up for Summer Reading at Your Library at your community library or online at Beanstack. Everyone who signs up by June 30 can pick a book to keep. Books available while supplies last.

There are many ways to track your Summer Reading Progress. Choose any of the following methods:

Track books read through Beanstack (find out more below).
Print your log at home (booklet coming soon!).
Create your own tracking log!
This year we are offering two stages for collecting prizes:
July 12–18: Bike, drive, roll, or stroll into one of our libraries for a special mid-challenge prize!
By August 15: Log your completed challenges in Beanstack or bring in your completed log for your limited-edition 2026 Summer Reading Finisher Pin or Bubbles and your own Winner’s Certificate.

Program is for any child 1st-6th grade. Simply read 8 books (any type from anywhere). Then write about your favorite part in the Reading log. Bring a completed Reading log to a Barnes & Noble bookstore. Children then choose their free book from the books listed on the Reading log and collect their free book from a store near them during July and August.
Read 10 books and record them on the Reading Log. Turn the completed reading log into one of the 4 Seize the Bagel stores in Vancouver and get a FREE bagel with cream cheese. You can turn in as many completed reading logs as you would like.
Students track what they read for 2 weeks on the reading rewards calendar (English Calendar & Spanish Calendar). Take the completed calendar to a participating Chuck E. Cheese to get 10 free play points! Take a look at their website to see their other reward offers!
If students read 400 minutes and complete the tracking form, they can receive a FREE Bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes (902 SE 164th Ave, Suite 100).
During the summer months of June, July, and August, any child that meets their parent-set reading goals can earn a free Pizza Hut® single topping Personal Pan Pizza®* from participating locations. Use the BOOK IT!® Mobile App to set goals, track progress, and redeem rewards.
