I have served as a School Counselor with Vancouver Public Schools (VPS) since 1999. Most of my 20+ years here in VPS have been at Skyview High School, except for the one year I spent at Columbia River High School. Prior to VPS, I worked as a School Counselor at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon and also Lake & Peninsula School District in SW Alaska. I have a B.A. (History) from the University of Utah, an M.Ed. (Counseling & Development) from Montana State University-Northern, and a specialized certificate (College Counseling) from the University of California San Diego.
I've had students call me GWOWW, G-Man, and G-Money, but I'll answer to George and "hey you" as well. I was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, noted as the film location for the very important 1970's movies Thunderbolt & Lightfoot and Telefon (not all that 'important', but it sounds impressive). I have two daughters - Isidora (now a senior at the Univ of Utah herself) and Iliana (starting at DePaul University in the Fall) and my wife Jen is beautiful, smart, funny, and hands-down the best wife in the world (she in no way influenced or dictated this sentence for me). In my free time, I enjoy skiing, sport fencing, travel, listening to Rory Gallagher records, and soccer (especially Panathinaikos of the Greek Super League and, of course, the Portland Timbers). Keeping the movie theme going, I am featured (for roughly two seconds) in the 1991 Corey Haim smash hit Dream Machine, filmed while I was in college in Salt Lake City (not really a 'smash hit', but that sounds impressive as well).
