DIY BRIO LEGO Train

Some things should just exist.

For example, the potential to build BRIO-compatible trains with LEGO bricks is obvious to every 4-year-old who happens to own both flavors of toys. But there is no off-the-shelf way to make them work together, excepting some notable but ultimately misguided attempts.

On the heels of building a LEGO play table, which immediately got repurposed into a train track as well, I had to do something about it. I found the cheapest BRIO-compatible set that I wouldn't feel bad destroying, and attacked it with a chisel and a glue gun. Nothing fancy about it, but I thought it might inspire someone else.
