Events

On the first day of school, the PTSO sets up in the entryway by the kindergarten classrooms to meet our newest Falcons. We enjoy making a backdrop for them, but don't always get to it. 

 
Every year we join forces with Granite Hills High School's Family Center to provide Thanksgiving meals, clothing and hygiene essentials to those that need it within our community. Zyra Hall is the fantastic coordinator of this annual event.

Our first community event after returning to campus in 2021. Thank you to teachers, staff, and volunteers for your part in making this event possible. 

Fall Festival is our largest community event attracting Vanguard Families as well as the general public. We have food vendors, a photo booth, face painting, a haunted house and many games.

Our annual school Thanksgiving Meal drive feeds approximately 20 families for the holiday on average. Our school community donates all food, including turkeys, and the PTSO assembles and fills in any missing ingredients to complete the meals.

Every year as allowed, we hold a Santa Photo event on a school day where kids may take a holiday or photo with Santa. Families are issued a 5"x7" photo for a small fee. Above are a few of our backdrops throughout the years.

We really enjoy hosting the Holiday Store in the 4 days before winter break. Students may shop for siblings and family and let us know who the gifts are for. We then wrap them and deliver them to their classroom as soon as we possibly can, but always before break begins.
