Vanderbilt Gaming

We are a student organization at Vanderbilt University dedicated to fostering an inclusive gaming community. Each semester, we celebrate with the entire Vanderbilt community by hosting our flagship event also the largest gaming convention on campus - Vandy_LAN. After seven hugely successful events, we are eager to continue the tradition for many more years to come!

In addition, we take on many other responsibilities including

• Hosting weekly hangout events every Friday night
• Collaborating with on/off-campus partners
• Showcasing the diversity of gaming culture
• Encouraging all types of gaming
• Providing alternative, alcohol-free, late-night events

Spring 2014 Some of Vanderbilt's pioneers in the gaming community came together to realize a shared dream—a gaming convention with an open invite to the entire campus. Attracting almost 300 gamers from the Vanderbilt community, the first ever Vandy_LAN made quite the impression. The effort resulted in the creation of a student org dedicated to hosting Vandy_LAN. This organization became the precursor to Vanderbilt Gaming.

Fall 2016 Vandy_LAN first reached an attendance of 500. We first established long-term partnership with Coca-Cola.

Summer 2017 The organization is renamed Vanderbilt Gaming to distinguish the club from its headlining event, reflecting an increasing focus on holding diverse events with community partners.

Despite being a relatively young organization, we have come a long way since our founding. In a few short years, we have become a cornerstone of the Vanderbilt gaming community, reflected by our steady rise in attendance.
