Belleville High School proudly announced its first-ever Cosmetology program in 2024-2025, offering four courses for students to explore their passion, build career skills, and work toward licensing. In Purpose, Excellence, and Achievement - Go Tigers!
Programs Offered
All programs follow curriculum approved by the Michigan Licensing Board of Cosmetology. Students who complete the required training hours, pass the state exam, and meet all licensing criteria may become licensed to work in Michigan salons.
Cosmetology- 2 to 3 year program
Covers esthetics, manicuring, and hair services. Students train with facial devices, styling tools, and professional resources. After 1500 hours and turning 17, students may take the state licensing exam.
Esthetics- 1 year program
Focuses on skincare, makeup, sanitation, anatomy, hair removal, and safety. Students complete 750 hours and may test for licensure at age 17.
Manicuring- 1 year program
Covers natural nail care, pedicuring, and artificial nail application. Students complete 600 hours and may test for licensure at age 17.
Natural Hair- 1 year program
Covers theory and skills in natural hair care. Students use professional tools and complete 500 hours before taking the state exam at age 17.
CTE Program Status
Cosmetology will become Belleville High School's sixth Career Technical Education (CTE) program after approval by the State of Michigan (typically a one-year process).
