Effective July 1, 2026, and in compliance with SB 848, every person that submits an application to volunteer in any capacity, will be required to complete the Mandated Reporter Course and submit the certificate of completion. An application will not be approved without the required certificate. The purpose of the mandated reporter training is to equip staff and volunteers with the knowledge and skills to properly identify, prevent, and report suspected child abuse or neglect. This additional step ensures early intervention, prevents further harm, and connects families with necessary support systems

Classroom Assistance volunteers must have a valid form of Identification; I.D. used to verify identity with name. Self-photos are not acceptable.
Fingerprint clearance is not required.
Mandated Reporter Certificate is required.
Clearance from the Megan's Law database website is required.
Tuberculosis (TB) clearance is required and must be within 60 days of application date. View the schedule for TB screening here.
A TB clearance is good for 4 years for returning volunteers and fingerprint clearance indefinitely for active volunteers, that is, for volunteers who have not had a break in service).

Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint clearance is required (by appointment only).
Mandated Reporter Certificate is required.
Clearance from the Megan's Law database website is required.

-DTaP/Tdap (Diphtheria Tetanus Pertussis) - Good for 10 years.
-MMR ( Measles Mumps Rubella) - Good for a lifetime.
-Flu Shot - Suggested but not required. You can click on the link to print and sign a waiver.
Fingerprinting can be done at the Human Resources Department by Appointment Only
Employees who wish to become volunteers at a school site need to submit an application to become a volunteer. They also need to upload their Mandated Reporter Certificate obtained from the annual district policy training. However, they do not need to obtain a new Tuberculosis (TB) or Fingerprint clearance. Employees must request proof of their Tuberculosis and fingerprint clearance to Human Resources by filling out a Request for Human Resources Document(s) form and submitting the form to HR directly. Once processed, HR will provide proof of the employee's TB and fingerprint clearance to the Family Engagement Center via email and the employee will be cc'd in the communication to continue with the approval process.
