Year One CSTP Goals
Positive Learning Environment: Engagement Strategies for Learning
Positive Learning Environment: Engagement Strategies for Learning (Cont.)
Developing as a Professional Educator: Parent Engagement
Assessing for Learning: Effective Feedback for Student Learning
Comparing My Initial CSTP and My Final CSTP Assessments
The main areas of focus from my first to my final CSTP centered around the support I provided and the relationships I have with my students. I feel that both of these CSTPs helped to evolve my pedagogy to be much stronger than when I first arrived at my school.
Areas of Strength
The areas that I gained the most strength in during this first year of teaching came in the relationships that I built with my students and their parents/guardians. These relationships helped to build a welcoming environment for the students to learn and feel supported.
Areas of Improvement
The areas that I feel I could use the most improvement would be in my classroom management and lesson engagement. Classroom management is completely different while distance learning so I feel this area will be one that will see a great deal of improvement next year when back in person (hopefully). I can also always be sharpening my tools to create more engaging lessons for my students to help them learn and grow.
How I Have Changed and What I Am Most Proud Of
The thing that I am most proud of is the confidence that I have gained over my first year of teaching. I feel very comfortable while working with my classes and confident in the relationships I have built with them. Those relationships are also what I am the most proud of and something I will value throughout my career.
Year TWO CSTP Goals
Positive Learning Environment: Employing classroom routines, procedures, norms, and supports for positive behavior to ensure a climate in which all students can learn
Teacher Wellness: Managing professional responsibilities to maintain motivation and commitment to all students
Parent Engagement: Working with families to support student learning
Assessing for learning: Creating Rubrics for Teacher and Student Use
Comparing My Initial CSTP and My Final CSTP Assessments
The main areas of focus from my first to my final CSTP centered around building classroom routines to help students feel comfortable in class. These routines helped to build a welcoming environment that establishes a place students feel free to ask questions and be themselves. My final CSTP centered on the work that I strived to provide parents and gaurdians to help me provide their students with the best education possible.
How I Have Suprised Myself
The areas that I gained the most strength in during this first year of teaching came in the relationships that I built with my students and their parents/guardians. These relationships helped to build a welcoming environment for the students to learn and feel supported.
My Goal Beyond Induction
The goal that I have to go beyond my induction is to never lose sight of the progress that I made these first two years and the why in which I did that. There were many things that I was not used to doing that these first two years of teaching required me to do. I am grateful for those moments because it was in those that I feel like I made the most growth. My goal is to always push myself to do those uncomfortable things so that when I am presented with moments to grow and take on challenges I can continue to do so.
How I Will Remain A Connected Educator
There are many ways that I plan to stay connected and energized throughout my carrer as an educator. By participating and attending all possible professional development classes I can keep my skills sharp and relevant as education evolves. The advice I have for new teachers is to jump in with both feet and get comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone.
