Community-Based Organizations & Vendors
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program provides access and opportunities for VVUSD elementary and middle school students to join and engage in our services facilitated by community-based organizations and vendors. This includes Think Together, POW Athletics, Lift Enrichment, Riverside Arts Council (RAC), Riverside Art Museum (RAM), and the Cesar Chavez Foundation (Amped4Making).
Site-Specific Academies
Each of our Val Verde Unified School District elementary and middle school ELO-Programs feature a variety of academies specific to the site. Academies are created based on the needs and interests of the school's students, parents, staff, and community members. To learn more about the academies offered at your student's site or if you would like to see an academy offered at your student's site, please reach out to an ELO-P Liaison at the school site.
Elementary & Middle School Sports
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program provides funding for elementary and middle school sports. This includes basketball, soccer, cross country, volleyball, track, baseball, and flag football. Tournaments take place on Saturdays during the respective sport's season, and student-athletes will have the opportunity to compete against other schools within Val Verde Unified School District.
E-Sports
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program provides funding for E-sports in Val Verde Unified School District. This consists of team uniforms, tournaments, and necessary equipment. VVUSD hosts two district wide competitive tournaments that feature all school sites.
Robotics
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program provides funding for Robotics in Val Verde Unified School District. This consists of team uniforms, tournaments, and necessary equipment. VVUSD hosts the competitive Lego Tournament in the fall semester, which features all school sites.
Site Murals
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program has contributed to the site murals of elementary and middle school sites within Val Verde Unified School District. This currently includes Vista Verde Middle School and Sierra Vista Elementary.
