WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33-802(3), Idaho Code, as amended, the Board of Trustees of School District No. 139, Canyon County, State of Idaho (the “District”) has determined there is a need for a supplemental levy in the amount of $7,000,000 per year for two (2) years, for the purpose of paying all lawful expenses of maintaining and operating the District for the fiscal years beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2028.
The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $65 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. The proposed levy replaces an existing levy that expires on June 30, 2026, and
that currently costs $76 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. Therefore, if the proposed levy is approved, the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value is expected to decrease by $11 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value.
