What is it?
See the video to get an overview of what NinGenius is and what it has to offer. Overall, it is a way for students to show their knowledge of different music theory concepts all wrapped up into a fun-to-play game.
This is how Mr. Absalonson will know that individual students are understanding the content and musical knowledge we learn in class.
How is it graded?
Each semester, the students are expected to have "passed off" more stars and belts by completing them on NinGenius online. The stars need to be "Blue or Better" to earn credit.
Helpful Hint: Focus on getting the stars "Blue or Better" before trying the belt test. The belt test is a Summative test of the content covered in the stars.
Stars are entered into the gradebook in Infinite Campus under the "Formative" category and belts are entered under the "Summative" category.
The stars and belts that were graded in previous semesters are entered in as a "Previous Progress" grade in future semesters.
Students who make progress beyond their grading timeline are already working on their grades for future band classes!
