Book Reports

All 4th graders are expected to complete a book report project each quarter. Your child must fill out a book choice form first and return it to me. A book choice form will be sent home at the beginning of each 9-week period. Within a couple weeks, information about the book report project will be sent home. Make sure your child is reading enough every night so he or she can complete the book report on time.

Homework and Tests

Homework is a very important part of your child's growth. Students will have homework Monday through Thursday. Spelling and math concept tests are given on Friday. New spelling lists should be written in you child's Agenda on the first day of the week.

Raising Grades

All students are permitted to correct papers (excluding tests) with a score of 70% or lower, for a better grade. This will be the student’s responsibility.

Agendas

All 4th graders are expected to fill in their agendas daily. We do this together in class. Students should be taking it home everyday to share with you things they have been doing in class and important future events and deadlines. It needs to be signed by a parent weekly by the "X" in the purple section on Friday. This will be checked every Friday.

Communication

Please check your child's homework folders, agendas, and backpacks for:

1. Newsletters and other important papers which will be sent home regularly.

2. Graded papers - possibly daily.

3. Agendas - contain important information.

4. Infinite Campus - Check this site to monitor your child's academic progress through vallivue.org. You may need to call the District Office at (208) 454-0445 to get access.

STATEWIDE TESTING

In the spring, Vallivue students will take ISAT tests targeting Idaho Core Standards in ELA and Math. Specific information is available on vallivue.org or on the Idaho State Department of Education website.
