Students finished out our Moving Forward unit with a creative project focusing on overcoming obstacles, showing persistance, and building resilience. Check out their paper animations where a main character overcomes obstacles.Â
Trial and Error is a great way to learn from mistakes! Students designed a "cool" Lego car, and applied Newton's Third Law of Physics to see how far the car could travel with balloon power. They graphed the distance traveled for each trial. The more runs they attempted, the more they learned and improved. One even went 300 cm!Â
Students completed their very first GT research project! They learned 5 facts about an unusual animal and then created Interactive Digital Projects that share the features of the animal using block Coding. they showed creativity and problem solving in this task.Â

In our Moving Forward, students are reflecting on growth and learning from failure. What better way to try, modify, improve, and grow than to create a coaster within a timeframe. Check out their trials, errors, and successes in the video!Â
Fred, our curious and adventurous gummy worm mascot decided to sail around the world! Unfortunatly, trouble seems to always find him. Watch the amazing adventures of Fred's journey in the student created film below (and of course some behind the scenes footage).Â
Students calculated their "numbers" to create an introduction project. Have you ever used square roots to represent the number of people in your household? Or figured out how much you would weigh on another planet? Our 3rd graders have! Check out to video to see more.
Our new class is off to a great start! The day was a lot of procedures and getting to know each other with a bit of engineering. Check out the short video and the Getting to Know Me projects that the students worked on.
