On this page we'll talk all about alevins. Alevins are the second part of a trout’s life cycle. An alevin is a small creature. It is ¾ of an inch. Alevins emerge into a small fry. When they hatch they still are attached to the egg sac. The definition for alevin is new fish. The word alevins applies only to trout and salmon. It will only last 30-50 defined as alevins.
Here is a poem of alevins:
I am small,
I am weak,
I can’t swim till I peek,
Out of that form and grow up.
To be strong!
The water is cold,
It is Freezing.
I am bold! I am Strong!
I am yellow and orange,
I’m not white.
