Let me introduce myself...I am Tabitha Jones and I have been a teacher since 1991 here in Jonesboro, AR. I have 17 years of experience in Special Education and 8 years in the General Classroom teaching Reading, Writing, Language, and Spelling. This year I will be teaching 6th Grade Reading and Social Studies.
I have a daughter, Harleigh, who is attending college at UCA in Conway. She graduated from VVHS in 2015 and is majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism. We both enjoy attending basketball games and browsing out of the way flea markets together. However, the beach is by far our favorite place to spend our summer time! Reading, coffee, bookclubs, cookouts with family and friends, along with traveling are some of my favorite things.
This year I am looking forward to exploring new novels and historical/current events with your child. We will work in small groups, use Google Classroom, research, write, debate, discuss, and present projects throughout the year. It is my goal to set high expectations inside and out of class for my students and to motivate them to excel in their education! Parents are encouraged to provide guidance and support for "our" children. "Together we are better" My lesson plans are kept current and posted weekly. Please check the website frequently for Newsweek Information and class assignments.
