Assignment 1 (optional) : Read a book of your choice for fun. No test, no notes, no essay- just read and enjoy and we can talk about it when you get here in the fall!

Assignment 2 (required): Keep a journal. Reading and writing are rooted in experience. Work on finding and crafting your writing voice.It is just a journal of your thoughts and experiences over the summer. You will bring these to class the first day of school and share a few pages with us.
