Meet Your Teacher: Mrs. Rene! 🌟

Hello, Fifth Graders!

My name is Mrs. Rene, and I am SO excited to be your teacher at Willow Road School this year! I truly believe that being a teacher is one of the best jobs in the world—and that’s because I get to spend my days learning, laughing, growing, and making memories with amazing students like you.

In our classroom, you can expect to learn, explore, create, ask questions, make mistakes, and try again. I will always encourage you to challenge yourself and believe in what you can do. I have high expectations for my students because I know you are capable of incredible things!

My biggest goal is for our classroom to be a place where everyone feels welcome, important, and safe to be themselves. I want you to look back on fifth grade and remember not only what you learned, but also how much you grew, how many things you accomplished, and how much fun we had along the way.

I want you to leave our classroom each day thinking, “I can do hard things!” and leave fifth grade feeling proud of the person you are becoming.

I don't believe learning is just about memorizing facts. I want to help you become curious thinkers, problem-solvers, dreamers, and lifelong learners.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe every student can learn and grow.
Sometimes we just need to find the right strategy, the right encouragement, and the right mindset. There is no such thing as “I can't do it.” In our classroom, we say:

“I can't do it…YET!”

Grades I've Taught

I have had the opportunity to teach students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, as well as middle school! That means I've learned a lot about how kids learn and grow—and I can't wait to learn what makes you an amazing learner.

The Best Part of Teaching

YOU are the best part!

Every year, my students teach me something new. They make me laugh, surprise me, challenge me, and fill my heart with pride. Even when my students move on to their next adventure, I never forget them.

Every student leaves a little piece of themselves in my heart, and I have a feeling this class is going to be pretty unforgettable!

My Family

When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family. My husband, son, and daughter are my favorite people to hang out with. At school, I think of my classroom as my second family, and I hope that you will feel like an important part of our classroom family, too!

My Animal Crew

We are BIG animal lovers at my house!

We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 chickens. 🐶🐶 🐱🐱 🐔🐔🐔🐔

My daughter also loves taking care of and riding horses. 🐴

So if you ever have an interesting animal story to tell me…I definitely want to hear it!

I don't expect you to be perfect. I expect you to try, be kind, learn from your mistakes, help others, and never give up on yourself.

We are going to work hard.
