I would like to share some of my favorite links to educational websites for at home learning! Below are some sites that I think are great for help with math and reading, especially for emergent readers who may need some extra practice. Happy learning!
www.starfall - This is a great website to help beginning readers learn to read using the computer. Some of the books that we will be reading in the classroom can be found on this site.
www.spellingcity.com - This is a website to help with spelling.
www.hoodmath.com - a website for math practice.
www.switcheroozoo.com - (Switcheroo Zoo) Watch, listen and play games to learn all about amazing animals.
www.abcya.com - Practice math and reading skills all while playing fun games.
www.funbrain.com - Fun games while practicing math and reading skills.
www.abcmouse.com - This one is not free, but I believe you can get a 30 day free trial to see if you're interested.
www.epic.com - This site allows your child to read or listen to books online.
www.gonoodle.com - This site is really great for "brain breaks" especially if the weather is bad and you need them to get out some of their energy.
www.ixl.com - This is an amazing resource that Valley uses. As soon as I receive their username and password, I will send them home.
Your child should be going on this site at least once a week to brush up on any skills that are difficult for them. Please monitor to make sure they are using both Math and Language Arts.
