Class overview

I will be teaching you how to improve your reading and critical thinking skills. We will achieve this higher level of critical thinking through reading many different styles of texts and texts that were written to fulfill many different purposes, voicing and debating our opinions in speeches and seminars, and by writing both formally and informally to express ourselves on the page. We will learn various literary devices to help you navigate and understand books independently and also work on vocabulary to help your speech blossom. This class will lay the foundation for the way you read and appreciate books in the future and I want to stress positive habits so that you are as prepared as possible.
