I started teaching at Valley Academy back in 2008 when I moved to AZ from my hometown of Cedar Rapids, IA. I have been married to my wife, Lisa, since 2006 and we have 2 children Malachi and Maci who also go to Valley Academy.

Prior to teaching, I played basketball both in college and professionally. Basketball has always been a passion of mine. I played at Southeastern Community College and then at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After college I played for the Harlem Ambassadors and was able to travel the world playing the sport I love.

After I got married in June 2006, I taught Special Education and coached boys' basketball at my high school Alma mater, Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. I stayed there from 2006 to 2008 when my son Malachi was born. That is when we decided to make the move to my wife's hometown of Phoenix. I was blessed to find Valley at that time and have been grateful to be part of this school ever since. I look forward to many more years with the Valley Academy family.
