Automotive Teacher & Club Advisor
My name is Colton Bradfield, and I’m excited to join Vale High School as the Automotive Teacher and Club Advisor. Before stepping into the classroom, I spent 17 years working in the automotive repair industry, gaining hands-on experience and developing a passion for the trade.
I was born and raised right here in Vale on my family’s farm, and I’m proud to be a Vale High School graduate. During my own high school years, I was actively involved in the Automotive program, which played a major role in shaping my career path. I’m excited to now have the opportunity to give back to the school and community that helped prepare me for my career.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working in my home shop, and tending to my garden.
In my classroom, students can expect a two-part approach to learning: classroom theory combined with hands-on application. I believe students learn best when they have the opportunity to understand why something works and then put that knowledge into practice.
My goal is to help students explore their interests, develop practical skills, and discover possible career paths through automotive technology. Whether a student ultimately pursues a career in the automotive industry or chooses a completely different path, I believe the skills developed in this program—problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, responsibility, and hands-on troubleshooting—will benefit them in whatever career they choose.
Most importantly, I want my classroom to be a place where students feel comfortable learning, asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the confidence to tackle new challenges.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I welcome communication with families and would appreciate knowing anything you feel would help me better support your student.
